“Davis’ Poem”

"I could say I simply read your poem and it was amazing. But I didn't just read it and it wasn't just amazing.

I felt it

I felt as if I was there as the words were seared onto the pages. I felt the silence of the spaces in between each word holding your world and mine at the same time. You didn't catch my attention, you held it captive till the end. You explained to me emotions that I couldn't denote but denounced.

Emotions that I couldn't say but heard in the whispers of my past.

Thank you. And I want you to know that if I am able to feel this way, I hope you find it within yourself to not be the butterfly that has his wings poisoned.

Please be the one that gives and gives but also takes and takes .

We need you more than you know.
