Subconsciously brainwashed; How the matrix creates your habits
This generation is suffering from brain-rotting syndrome. It’s a silent plague in the modern age, caused when the mind is overstimulated by far too much consumption. Ultimately leading to the demise of the creative mind.
What do I mean by this? A fine example would be the little device that we carry around with us daily. It's kind of like it’s glued to our hands. A person who spends all of their time consuming the matrix agenda, (like scrolling on social media, or watching so much news that it starts to paralyze you mentally), is a person that lacks originality, intent, and creativity.
When our subconscious is force-fed ideas and noise, it ceases to create its own. And the scary part is, most people don’t even realize it’s happening. Left unchecked, it can hijack your imagination, but the good news is, with small, intentional changes, recovery is absolutely possible.
How the Matrix Creates Your Habits
We are always creating habits whether we realize it or not. Every waking moment, our minds are consuming information. If we aren’t careful, this information can and will start to form habits that may not serve you well as a human being.
I say this because If you’re not conscious about what’s influencing you, you risk losing your innovation. Social media, television, and even the people around you are programming you and it starts fresh out the womb.
From a young age we are taught that we are created to work.
No Job → no money → homeless. The world says “work.. or else.”
This mindset automatically puts us in survival mode and working becomes your biggest habit. It consumes all of your time leaving you with no chance to pursue your true purpose.
When you do have time to yourself you spend it either bed rotting or brain rotting. Consuming information that has been pre-digested. Instead of creating habits of your own, you watch others create theirs.
You start to live a life that was planted inside of you. Meanwhile, the life you should be living is dismissed as impossible. I am not saying that you should boycott your job for the next two weeks.
But if you create positive habits, you'll start to discover your purpose and learn more about yourself. Instead of passively working, you’ll be doing what you love and enjoying it.
Breaking the Matrix Within
I fell out of the matrix my senior year in high school. You might wonder: how do you know when you are no longer a part of the system? You’ll know when it happens when the circle surrounding you shrinks because you are no longer doing what everyone else is.
When you’re starting to realize that the world around you isn’t at all what you thought it was—you can’t figure out why. . . until you do. Everything is set up so intentionally and humans aren’t necessarily praised for thinking outside of the box and challenging what's been pushed onto us.
You will begin to wake up your consciousness and find your God-given purpose instead of the one the world has given you. Societal pressure to be whom someone else wants us to be leads us down a path of loss. Loss of identity and purpose. Looking back I realize that this wasn’t just a theory, it was happening to me.
The world around me felt strange and I found myself mentally drained and paralyzed under my matrix-driven habits. Lying in bed, heavily influenced by what I saw which was the majority of sad videos.
Why is it that the media tends to expose young children to depression at such a young age? It’s like instead of learning to manage their emotions and deal with life’s hardships they are being bombarded with tragedy and sadness.
Then we wonder why so many of our babies are lost to suicide. I guess mama was right. It was “that damn phone.”
Anway… my mental health was spiraling and it had gotten to a point where I no longer wanted to be here. I visually remember the doctor asking me if there was a reason and I had none.
When you scroll on social media you are being brainwashed by the matrix. You’re allowing it to decide what you think, feel, and even who you are before you’ve had a chance to learn it for yourself.
It’s basically saying “learn your place,” so you never stop and question reality. A person who can be force-fed information is a person who can be controlled.
But once I tuned into myself, I was able to develop conscious-driven habits that not only led to me figuring out my purpose but to a clear mind as well— by the strength of God, not mine alone.
Matrix-Driven Habits vs. Conscious-Driven Habits
Without intentional habits the world takes control of your subconscious. I want to break down the difference between these two habits and talk about what you can do to start being more intentional about what you consume and how much.
Matrix-Driven Habits
These are the habits created for you. The ones the world is programming into you without even asking.
Checking your phone as soon as you wake up because that’s what you were trained to do. (This will set the motion to your day as well)
Passively scrolling on social media because that’s what's popular right now.
Lying in bed and consuming constant information because it’s easier than doing anything else that might actually benefit you.
Ordering food because it is fast and convenient but not being aware of what that food can do to you in the long run.
Binge-watching shows because it’s “easier” to unwind that way.
They may bring you comfort, but these things will never serve you. They are built to convince, influence, and sell.
Conscious-Driven Habits
These are habits created by you with intention. Ones that promote growth and the discovery of self.
Grounding yourself with journaling or prayer each morning. (Set your own motion for the day :))
Expanding your knowledge and taking your learning into your own hands.
Getting up to do something active because it will benefit you.
Changing your eating habits and eating foods that fuel you up instead of feeding your cravings.
Setting limits on your consumption so it doesn’t consume the day in its entirety.
They are aligned with your goals and eventually become a stepping stone to becoming the you that you want to be. Instead of the person the world wants.
The Intentionality of the Habits We Create
If you don’t create habits for yourself the world will create them for you. We all believe that we have no control over our subconscious beings but we do.
With a lot of practice and intent you will eventually be cured from this world wide spread. Don’t let this disease consume your life because choosing to be intentional isn’t on society’s agenda. Instead let's fight this together bit by bit.
The matrix plays a huge role in our personal lives whether we realize it or not. The matrix isn’t what breaks you though, it’s your habits that do. Are your habits truly yours? Or have they simply slipped into the rhythm like everyone else’s? Step out of the matrix. Step into yourself.
